Polls and Surveys
The most recent poll of people respondiing to our HealthJustice newletter shows 768 people responding to the question "Should we tell Democrats to oppose the bills now in the House and Senate or should we hold our noses and take what we can get?" with 62% saying YES to "Tell Democrats to dump the bills." If you have not already taken the poll, you can take it here.
Another poll of activists is here. This poll shows that activists think that "Medicare For All" is an understandable term by are very large margin, and that many or most agree that we will not get any reform that means anything to the uninsured. And a random poll by nationwide email asking about attitudes toward "Medicare For All" is here.
Interestingly, in this random email poll, the largest number of respondents were in the 'getting ready for Medicare' age group of 55-64. Also tellingly, they seemed relatively well-informed on how insurance companies ration care, how Medicare works and now insurance company denials cause deaths. But also interestingly, they seemed to believe (inexplicably to me) that 'everyone in America can get health care when they need it.' Maybe that is where education needs to take place. Clearly the message of the deaths from lack of insurance is really not sinking in.
