Most Republican legislators and too many Democratic legislators are "adamantly opposed" to a public health care plan. These people pretend to favor "competition" and "market-based solutions" and oppose a competitive publicly financed plan.

Who do they think they are fooling?  The American people are not so stupid.  Even the most ideologically-driven of these legislators admit, as Sen. Cornyn said, "that a new Washington-run, public plan option will devastate private insurance markets by acting as a competitor, regulator, and funder." In other words, Jon Cornyn and those like him would turn all Americans over to the tender mercies of the for-profit health insurance companies because the insurance companies are afraid they can't compete with Medicare.

What hypocrisy this is! Health care is NOT health insurance. Health care is between a provider and a patient. Insurance companies do NOTHING to provide health care. Insurance companies deny care, restrict choice of provider and complicate treatment.

The American people by a clear majority want publicly financed, privately delivered health care. We do NOT want to be forced to buy overpriced, under-performing, choice-restricting insurance. We want Medicare For All.

These dinosaur legislators are repeating the obstructive tactics and arguments that other dinosaur legislators bloviated upon before Medicare was first enacted. Fifty years ago, these dinosaurs blocked Medicare and prevented millions of seniors from getting guaranteed health care. By obstructing publicly financed, privately delivered health care today's dinosaurs are keeping our health as the private hunting preserve for insurance industry profiteers.

These dinosaurs should be ashamed of their disservice to Americans.  We want a single payer Medicare For All.
