About Health Justice
Health Justice is working to bring health care to those who need it the most.
Maybe you've seen the cans and jars in convenience stores, asking you to donate to help pay for a child's expensive liver transplant or to help a mother whose cancer treatment is unaffordable. The mission of HealthJustice is to make these donation jars and cans unnecessary, by working to get decent and affordable health insurance to all Americans. Learn more about the single-payer movement.
In 2009, we donated nearly 150 thousand dollars to this cause, producing TV commercials to educate people about their choices in the health care debate. As a result, we produced 4,378 phone calls to the White House, 52,611 faxes to our Nation's Senators, and 136,751 faxes to our Nation's Representatives for a total of 189,362 faxes sent.
Now we are focusing on direct grants to community clinics, free clinics, and health outreach organizations, in addition to continuing our focus on research and education to increase the health coverage for all Americans. We approach our mission with a long-term view and know that bringing health insurance to all 50 million Americans who don't have it is a huge undertaking. But with your help, we can realize this goal. And every step of the way, we are creating a healthier America, which is also a stronger America.
